Tan Chuan Jin

We just had a briefing and discussion of Bukit Brown. It was an opportunity, our thinking behind the question of the road in Parliament on 5 March was announced, and also to the views of those who are passionate about the heritage and history of the place to hear to share. It is understandable that our decision causes go ahead with the construction of the road is a disappointment for those who want to preserve Bukit Brown. I want those who gave their views on this subject, that the decision was not easy to calm. Although we had not been able to fully satisfy your needs we have incorporated many of their views. For example, the decision to embark on a serious hit documentary of the tombs, one of the tips that we received from friends of the company's assets. LTA has also commented on the design of roads to minimize the impact on the cemetery, hydrology and biodiversity.

For the future we need to continue these discussions. For example, we are currently working with stakeholders to disseminate to the public to remember the history and heritage of Bukit Brown, even if we continue with the work of documentation.

(Note 2) is enlightening to read the statement issued to the various groups.

Yesterday's session at Bukit Brown was never intended to search the desired type of dialogue and be one of those groups. Was not that an answer to the previous application.

I told him that our intention was to have been easy with a wide range of stakeholders in some of the background and considerations that have been shared with other groups and also highlight plans for the road share announced. No consultation was an effort to discuss if the road is built or not. It has been said in Parliament. He tells us the details, orientation, etc.

However, it was clear he did not play a role. Be drawn because we do not have a session that is in line with what they wanted done, how their own summaries, invite others into your guest list inadequate efforts in a real commitment into account.
